Summary 3Summary Read On Pretty Little Liars
This dramatic mystery by Sara Shepard is about 5 girl best friends who had a sleepover and were drinking alcohol. They fell asleep and during the night they woke up to two of the friends missing. Spencer, one of the best friends, showed up out of nowhere to inform the other girls that Alison was missing. Two years after Alison went missing, her body was found buried behind an old house. At the end of her funeral, her friends receive a text message from an anonymous person, signed with the name ´´A´´. They think the A stands for Alison, but then realize is not her, because she is obviously dead. A starts to watch their every move and stalk their lives. For example, A threatens them to expose their secrets and personal lives. Then, the best friends start to suspect everyone in the town. Instead of reporting things to the police, they investigate on their own and discover lots of mysterious secrets. A quote from the book that I liked was "The rich girls steal, the pretty girls lie, the smart girls play dumb, and the dumb girls spend their days trying to be all of the above"(Shepard). For some reason, this part of the book stuck out to me. It sort of reminds me of high school because each girl is different and is either the rich, pretty, smart, or dumb one according to the book. And it is true, even though not all rich girls steal, not all pretty girls lie, and not all smart girls play dumb, but some do. Another quote that I liked was "Before you embark on journey of revenge dig two graves"(Shepard). I liked it because it corresponds well with the whole mystery of the book. The girls spent their years trying to find Alison’s murderer and wanted revenge. The quote is showing that there is not always a winner, but instead two losers. Since this story is a mystery, it leaves dozens of questions of unanswered. It leaves the reader wondering who is responsible for Allison's murder and eager to know who A is. I have read the other sagas to this book, and I always have different questions to each one. The first part leaves you with obvious questions. The next parts make you come up with crazy and impossible answers TO the questions, like even thinking YOU'RE A. |
Summary 4The Fault in Our Stars Book
The Fault in Our Stars by John Grene is a beautifully written romance. It is about a girl, Hazel Grace Lancaster, who has had cancer since she was a little girl. Hazel´s mother thinks she is ¨depressed¨ and urges her to see her doctor. The doctor recommends Hazel should go to a Support Group in a church "at the heart of Jesus". In the support group, there are about a dozen other teenagers with Cancer. One day, Hazel meets Augustus Waters, a handsome young man. They begin to get to know each other, and eventually fall deeply in love. There are three main characters, Hazel, Augustus, and Isaac. But, the two actual real main characters are Hazel and Augustus, since they're the ones in love. They all suffer from cancer, which is definitely a big challenge for all of them. Hazel´s lungs are not like everyone else’s. They are tiny because it is hard for her to breathe, Hazel has to wear an oxygen tube in her nose. When Hazel and Augustus went to Amsterdam, they visited the Anne Frank house, which as you may know is a tall museum up to an attic. It was hard for her to climb all the stairs and ladders, but she made it to the top with just a bit of breath left. The most important thing that happens in the story, in my opinion, is when Hazel and Gus (Augustus) go to Amsterdam. It is Hazel’s dream to meet an author of a favorite book that she read, but there’s one problem. She had already used her wish from the Make A Wish Foundation to go to Disney World as a child. But, gladly, Gus did not use his wish. They travel to Amsterdam to meet the author, who is an rude alcoholic. I feel like this is the most important part of the book because when Gus and Hazel arrive at Amsterdam, they go on a date to a restaurant. On the date, Gus tells her how in love he is with her. I cried as I read this part. "I'm in love with you, and I'm not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I'm in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we're all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we'll ever have, and I am in love with you”(Green). It was honestly the cutest thing I have ever read in my whole entire life. From that moment on, their love for each other was eternal. |
